Second Chapter patrons: thank you for your incredible support these past 4 months. We are blown away, yet again, by the enthusiasm our pop-up bookstore has received, and your support has substantially helped fundraising for the University Park Public Library. To everyone who shopped, donated books, and put their time, effort, and love into this bookstore, THANK YOU! We could not have done it without each and every one of you. We’d like to extend a special thanks to the following organizations and local businesses for their support:
Bob Teeter, Madison Investors Realty, Inc., Constangy Brooks, Smith & Prophete LLC, Highland Park Housekeeping, David Rubin Photography, Sarkis Oriental Rugs, Kate Ross, Narrative Collection, Kay Wyma, Author and Speaker, NCL Highlander, and YMSL Highlander.
While we will be closing our doors for the third time, we are committed to continuing to explore ways to bring back a form of Second Chapter in the future. We continue to sell books in our Book Nook Sales Corner at the Library and appreciate your gently used book donations year round in the lobby at the Peek Service Center (4420 Worcola) on weekdays during business hours.
If you are interested in continuing to support the University Park Public Library through service and fundraising, we would love to have you as a Member of the Friends! Since the Library opened in the Plaza at Preston Center in 2013, the Friends of the University Park Public Library has raised over $2,500,000 to provide high-quality materials, services, technology, and programs.
Though Second Chapter Bookstore has “popped down” for the year, we do have some volunteer opportunities available from March-October 2023. Please complete this survey https://forms.gle/YSTf3fLhpBuoU2du6 if you’d like to be added to our contact list for these upcoming volunteer opportunities.
